Sun City Girls - "Blue Mamba"
Off the "Torch Of The Mystics" LP released on Majora in 1990.
Surprised SCG has been thrown on here, seeing as they're one of the biggest acts within the "Avant-Canon," up there with The Residents and Beefheart. With a guitar tone that is medically classified as an auditory anesthetic, a bass that can split canyons and drum work that gravitates from standard to wacked out, SCG go all over the place, rock songs, freak folk songs, psych songs, surf songs, and whatever they just feel like making. True legends!

The Gerogerigegege - "ブライアン"
Off the "Sexual Behavior In The Human Male" CD released on SSE Communications in 1995.
Previously featured on 12-3-2015.
Infamous Japanoise act takes a step back from ultra-abrasive noisecore for one album, focusing on Punk Rock and Post-Punkish type stuff. The original 4-track EP has been repressed into a full album, containing all of the songs from the studio session. The result is strange - the songs that weren't thrown onto the original EP are much better then the actual EP. Among the bonus tracks is "ブライアン," which according to google translate means "Brian." The track is among some of the most subdued you'll ever hear, on the complete different end of the spectrum as "Tokyo Anal Dynamite."

Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 - "Socket"
Off the "Strangers From The Universe" LP released on Matador in 1994.
The weirder side of Matador, TFUL282 formed in San Francisco in 1986 and have formed a prominent cult-following that transcended their 90's Indie / College Radio scene. Specializing in a brand of quirky and noisy Indie Rock mixed with Ambient tracks (called "Feller Filler") in order to make fully rounded, genre-tag defying albums. Here specifically is their track "Socket," perfectly produced and performed!

Ween - "Dr. Rock"
Off "The Pod" LP, released on Shimmy Disc / Elektra in 1991.
One of the most verbose and expansive catalogs in Rock history, Ween have released everything from basement noise rock to live jams to country and indie rock, and did so without rest during their legendary career. As a fan of Ween, I always felt that their second full length (before GodWeenSatan they had released an array of tapes, but most Ween fans mark their start as GodWeenSatan) saw willful neglect from their fanbase, but that might be because this is my favorite Ween album, and all in all, one of my favorite albums. Each track is just perfect, Ween were not only gods of Lo-Fi production, but gods of music in general.

Brainbombs - "Jack The Ripper Lover"
Off the "Jack The Ripper Lover / No End" single self released in 1989.
Previously featured on 10-3-2015.
One of my personal favorite Noise Rock acts, Brainbombs' first single is not to different from the work that they'd go onto do. With a one minute false intro which segues into the main song, "Jack The Ripper" is supposedly an expansion on a Peter Sotos writing of the same name, depicting a prostitute that had survived an encounter with the infamous Ripper. With the great intro coupled with the transcendent main section, with the ripping rhythmic guitar and a surprisingly eerie slide guitar, the Brainbombs' first song is not something to pass up.

Twin Stumps - "Painted In Blood"
Off their S/T LP released on Dais Records in 2009.
Previously featured on 10-31-2015 and 9-12-2015.
As I have previously stated, Twin Stumps have to be one of the best Noise Rock groups from the last decade, with an attitude, aesthetic and sound that is truly one of a kind. The industrial introduction is amazing, and it's a shame that they didn't experiment more with this amazing sound. The main song has hints towards war and all of its discontents, "murdering childrens in their homes," "blood raining down," etc. If only they added a lyric sheet with this album, because I feel like this track and "Scar" have great lyrics, but there's really no way of knowing for sure, since his voice is so buried in the mix. Whatta shame.

Etat Brut - "Indigestion"
Off the "Emissions 1" tape, self released in 1981.
Previously featured on 12-3-2015.
"Nearly all us will suffer from Indigestion in our lifetime." Belgian Industrial gods are back, well not really since this tape is from 1981. Emissions in some ways, is EB's best album, while in some ways it is their most dispensable. Some great tracks are on here, Such as 'Fragments,' 'Poubelles' and so on, while some tracks like 'Lines Of Murder' and 'Pyschosomatique" bore me. Of course it isn't EB's job or obligation to entertain me, but listening to great tracks like Fragments and Indigestion really leaves me craving for more songs like them. Intense, rhythmic and very ambient, with great progression between the 2 main mixers. Etat Brut, like many industrial groups, is hit or miss, but when they hit it, it's glorious.

Com Truise - "Control Pop"
Off the "In Decay" LP released on Ghostly International in 2012.
I am well aware of this albums popularity, (having over a million views on youtube) but I don't think the actual contents of the album has been really discussed at length - most of the appeal comes from the whole vaporwave / future funk thing of the last few years, most people coming for the memes and not staying for the music. Whatta legacy, com truise.
But all that aside, the actual album is amazing. "Control Pop" is easily my favorite tracks, with its warm synths and what not.
